Singlespeed is in our DNA. First started as Singlespeed.nl, JustPedal Bikeshop has a 20 year plus experience with singspeed frames, parts and conversions, on- and off-road. We started selling singlespeed parts exclusively when we first started, and we did a conversion or 2 back in the days, and still we build singlespeeds on request.
Custom build or conversion?
Most people start riding singlespeed with an old mountainbike they still have, collecting dust because a newer, fancier bike was bought as their main ride. This old mountainbike can be converted into a singlespeed quite easy, and serves as the perfect alternative to the magic carpet ride of the latest full suspension bikes people tend to ride nowadays! Singlespeed Conversions
What do you need to convert that old MTB or road bike collecting dust in the corner of your garage or shed? Normally you will need a new chainring, rear cog, spacer kit for the rear cog, chain and a tensioner. Like with all bike related maintenance and upgrades this may seem simple, but there are a few things to think about before you start.
