Jones H-Bar® Bend 710 Aluminium

Jones H-Bar® Bend 710 Aluminium

Jones H-Bars are available in three styles: Loop, Cut, Bend. The Loop H-Bar is the most full-featured of the three: it has the widest range of positions, the most mounting options for gadgets and lights, and is the stiffest. The Cut H-Bar is almost identical to a Loop, but it looses the center section of the loop, and because of this it has less room to mount your gadgets. It's also not as stiff because the two grip tubes don't connect in the center. The Bend H-Bar is an H-Bar stripped-down to its bare essentials: long, 45 degree grip areas for amazing comfort and a few very good hand positions. It's a great way to get the amazing feel of a Jones H-Bar even if you don't need the whole range of positions and mounting locations. Most material/style combinations are available in two widths: 660mm and 710mm. Both have the same basic positions and the same shape, but the 710mm version adds a fully-upright position at the back of the grip area. This is a great position to have for touring and any kind of riding where you might want to sit fully upright without needing access to the controls. The 660mm version is best for navigating very tight singletrack or narrow city/commuting situations. The 710mm is our most popular width, and has laser-etched cut guides so you can cut it down to the 660mm width.

Why choose a Jones Loop H-Bar?

These handlebars may look unconventional but the bottom line is that they flat out provide better handling and more comfort than a traditional bar. A wide range of better hand and body positions ensure more power, comfort and control. 45 degrees of sweep puts your wrists in a natural and relaxed position for lasting comfort.
The Jones H-Bars are the perfect upgrade for a bikepacking, touring, mountain, road, gravel, commuting, city, or just about any other type of bike! They're also a great replacement for drop bars with more hand positions, comfort, control, and provide more bag and light mounting locations!
The front loop of the bar provides several hand positions and mounting locations for bike computers, lights, GPS devices, sports action cameras and the Jones Gnarwal.  This bar provides comfort and power with an impressive weight.  The long grip area paired with Jones long Grips provide a wide range of hand and body positions, from fully upright at the ends of the grips, to a tucked aero position when resting your forearms across the crossbar and front loop.  In between these extremes, there are many unique and useful positions, making this a true multi-position bar because you'll actually find yourself using all of the positions! The most rearward hand position allows for extra leverage and a wider hand placement - be it for comfort or power.

Jones Gnarwal
The Gnarwal is a simple single tube bonded to a beautifully machined two-piece clamp that attaches to the front of the Loop H-Bar with stainless steel hardware.  It provides a place to hold your hands and to better control the bike while in the most aero position that the H-Bar offers…It’s an aero bar for the H-Bar!Improvements over the original version: Wider clamp is stiffer and has a more secure grip. One-piece face plate design with more clamping surface that is also easier to install. Lighter design with the tube bonded onto the hollow machined clamp (original design used a bolt and wedge). Now also available in lighter Carbon Fiber version.   You can use the Gnarwal bare, or you can wrap it with bar tape or even install a grip for a larger gripping area. Besides using the Gnarwal as an aero bar it can function as a mounting location for bike computers, GPS, and sports action cameras.  The carbon version is less thermally conductive than the aluminum version which makes it feel colder in the heat and warmer in the cold.

Jones H-Bar® Loop Carbon
The Carbon 710mm Loop H-Bar weighs only 275g (this is 250g less than the 525g aluminum version). It passes the same strict EN/EU mountain bike standards as the aluminum and titanium bars. It is identical to our existing Loop H-bars — all the same natural hand positions, control and comfort, but 47% lighter!!The cross bar on the Loop H-Bar sweeps forward to allow the levers to go behind the cross bar instead of in front. This gives longer uninterrupted hand positions and will allow trigger and grip/twist shifters to fit on the rearward extensions (unlike the original H-bar). The continuous front loop of the bar enhances stiffness and is good for additional aero hand positions and mounting lights, GPS devices etc. This bar provides comfort and power with an impressive weight. With the levers in the optimum position you get a wide range of hand and body positions, from fully upright at the ends of the grips, to a tucked aero position when resting your forearms across the crossbar and loop.  In between these extremes, there are many unique and useful positions, making this a true multi-position bar because you'll actually find yourself using all of the positions! The rearward extensions allow extra leverage and a wider hand position - be it for comfort or power. All H-bars are for a 31.8 stem and the crossbar is now tapered and butted with a 31.8 mm clamp area. The grip tubes on the aluminum version are also butted for strength and weight savings.  All H-Bars have a standard 22.2mm diameter grip area.

Jones H-Bar® Loop Carbon 35.0
These Handlebars may look unconventional but the bottom line is that they flat out provide better handling and more comfort than a traditional bar. A wide range of better hand and body positions ensure more power, comfort and control. 45 degrees of sweep puts your wrists in a natural and relaxed position for lasting comfort.  PLEASE NOTE: This Bar requires a stem with a 35mm clamp. The 35mm diameter of the bar has a larger clamping area for a more secure integration with the stem and increased stiffness when compared to a 31.8mm bar. The bigger main cross bar also feels more ergonomic on longer rides. The high quality carbon helps with shock absorption while keeping the weight down.  This bar has the same 45 degree sweep as our other bars, comes in a 710mm width, a 35mm clamping area and a 22.2mm standard grip area for flat bar/mountain bike controls.  The entire front loop is 22.2mm diameter. The front loop of the bar provides several hand positions and mounting locations for bike computers, lights, GPS devices, sports action cameras and the Jones Gnarwal.  This bar provides comfort and power with an impressive weight.  The long grip area paired with Jones long Grips  provide a wide range of hand and body positions, from fully upright at the ends of the grips, to a tucked aero position when resting your forearms across the crossbar and loop.  In between these extremes, there are many unique and useful positions, making this a true multi-position bar because you'll actually find yourself using all of the positions! Jones H-Bar® Loop DB
Bar Width: 66 cm | Color: Silver
The Loop Aluminium H-Bar is the most popular H-Bar.  If you're new to the H-Bar, this is the model that we tend to recommend first because its loop design has the widest range of hand positions, its aluminium construction gives the best value, and its 710mm width not only gives you the full range of positions, but allows you to cut it down to the original 660mm width (using the laser-etched cut guides) if you decide that you want something narrower. The cross bar on the Loop H-Bar sweeps forward to allow the levers to go behind the cross bar instead of in front. Try wrapping the crossbar with bartape!  You can wrap both the crossbar and loop (but it helps to leave a gap in the center of the loop to mount whatever gadgets you have), if you want to have the most hand positions! 525 grams for the 710

Jones H-Bar® Loop DB 2.5
Bar Width: 71 cm | Color: Black
These Handlebars may look unconventional but the bottom line is that they flat out provide better handling and more comfort than a traditional bar. A wide range of better hand and body positions ensure more power, comfort and control. 45 degrees of sweep puts your wrists in a natural and relaxed position for lasting comfort.   The Jones H-Bars are the perfect upgrade for a bikepacking, touring, mountain, road, gravel, commuting, city, or just about any other type of bike! They're also a great replacement for drop bars with more hand positions, comfort, control, and provide more bag and light mounting locations! Jones aluminum H-Bars come in two tubing types; butted or straight gauge (SG).  Our butted H-bars are double butted meaning the tubing has two different thicknesses, thicker at the joints for strength and thinner elsewhere to reduce weight.  Straight gauge tubing is the same thickness throughout which reduces cost but increases weight. The Jones Butted 2.5 Aluminum Loop H-Bar shares the same comfortable 45 degree sweep, black or silver color options, 660mm widths, 31.8mm clamp diameter, and standard 22.2mm grip area diameter for flat bar/mountain bike controls as with the rest of the H-Bars.  The entire front loop has a 22.2mm diameter. We get a lot of questions about whether the 2.5 H-Bar will work with the Loophole H-Bar Pack and H-Bar pack, and the answer is yes!  The pack fits less tightly, and will be tilted on this H-Bar, but from our experience, it works just fine. The Jones Butted 2.5 Aluminum Loop H-Bar weighs approximately 525 grams, and is about 165 grams lighter than the SG 2.5 Aluminum Loop H-Bar, making the bar a great way to keep weight down and have great comfort and handling.

Jones H-Bar® Loop SG
Bar Width: 71 cm | Color: Black
The new Jones SG Loop H-Bar uses the same great design as our standard Loop H-Bar, but is available at a lower price by using straight-gauge aluminum tubing in place of the custom-butted tubing on the standard Loop H-Bar. Jeff wanted to make a Loop H-Bar that would allow more riders to experience the superior comfort, control, and utility of his Loop design without making it any less dependable and useful. He accomplished this by switching to less-expensive straight-gauge aluminum tubing. The result is an H-Bar that is just as strong as ever, but which weighs 100g more than the standard version.

Jones H-Bar® Loop SG 2.5
Bar Width: 66 cm | Color: Black
This H-Bar is essentially an SG Loop H-Bar with 2.5" of rise compared to the standard .5" of rise on all of the other H-Bars.  Do you have a bike with a short head tube?  Your back and neck want this bar!  Are you wondering if it's safe to install a steerer tube extender on a steerer tube extender?  Get this H-Bar and you won't need to find out!The SG 2.5 Loop H-Bar shares the same comfortable 45 degree sweep, black or silver colors options, 31.8mm clamp diameter, and standard 22.2mm grip area diameter for flat bar/mountain bike controls with the rest of the Aluminum H-Bars.  The main differences that you'll notice when riding the SG 2.5 vs the standard SG Aluminum Loop H-Bar is that the 2.5 is 2 inches higher—which makes it ideal for bikes with front ends that are too low—and that the rear crossbar swoops down to the stem, rather than curving mostly back as on the rest of the H-Bars.

The grips can be used, and will work fine with the bar plugs that come in the H-Bars, but we wanted to include larger, more protective bar plugs with our grips, so that your grips won't get torn up as easily, and that's what these grips come with.Jeff also made sure the details are just so: the ends of the grips are beveled to meet the angle of the bar plug, so that the plug can protect the end of the grip better, which is really important when you're laying the bike down on its side. The bar plugs themselves have a captured nut in the wedge so that when you loosen the bolt to remove the grips, the nut stays in place and the plug comes right out! And now both the nut and the bolt that threads into it are stainless steel to resist rust! The longest versions (for 710mm H-Bars) of the grips grips with their bar plugs weigh about 75 grams (2.65 ounces), with the grips accounting for about 46 (1.59 ounces) grams of that, and the plugs bringing up the other 29 grams (1.02 ounces), which makes them about 74 grams (2.61 ounces) lighter than comparable ESI 8.25" Extra Chunky grips, grip to grip (no bar plugs).
