Headset
When selecting a frame normally we give a suggestion for a matching headset in the Frame detail page. When including a frame prep, we install the headset, free of extra charge!
Frame Prep
Mounting headset and bottom bracket in a unprepped steel frame can result in premature bearing wear. Most production frames come unprepped, so be smart and include the Frame prep in your order!

Tom Ritchey welded up his first bicycle in his parents’ garage more than 50 years ago – when he was only 15-years old. Since then, he has continued riding, researching, designing, and building legendary bicycle frames and components that have inspired generations of cyclists to experience great rides, influenced legions within the bicycle industry, and have won countless championships.
To celebrate Ritchey’s 50th anniversary and Tom’s enduring and influential spirit of off-road adventure, the 50th Anniversary Outback proudly sports a Half Moon Blue paint scheme - an amazingly beautiful light blue to deep blue fade that truly moves the soul. Additionally, this limited-edition gravel rig is adorned with special Ritchey logos that reference the company's history and the influence Palo Alto, California has had on Tom.
Painstakingly TIG-welded with proprietary triple-butted Ritchey Logic steel tubing, the Outback frame delivers the legendary Ritchey ride quality that’s resilient over the harshest terrain and delightfully responsive when you want to open it up.

First introduced back in 2007, and perhaps somewhat misunderstood at the time, the Singular Peregrine is back by popular demand. Although its drop-bar-big-tire-classic-styling essence is the same, it’s seen a few geometry tweaks and changes to bring it up to date, and it now sports thru-axles and flat-mount brakes. It also has a lovely new bi-plane fork that makes space for 29 x 2.0 or 27.5 x 2.3″ rubber and is offered in two different shades of blue.

The Pescadero is an evolutionary hop and sidestep to the traditional road sport/endurance road frame. Most of the new "all-road" bikes embracing wider tires are automatically going to disc brakes. And disc brakes are an effective technology that we also adopt on other Soma frames. But what about cyclists who wants the benefits of wider road tires, but want the clean, classic look of a road caliper brakes (i.e. rim brakes) or just prefer how easy they are to adjust and maintain? The Pescadero is for these souls in mind.- Tange Prestige heat-treated butted CrMo steel front triangle; butted CrMo rear end- Road sport geometry (inbetween road race and cyclo-cross bikes in handling responsiveness)- Rear rack, front mini rack & fender mounts- Designed with the Paul Racer center mount, center-pull brakes in mind. Also fits 58-73mm reach dual pivot caliper brakes. (NOTE: Size 48cm ONLY fits a dual pivot caliper brake in the rear)- Lugged crown CrMo steel fork included. Fork has braze-ons for mini rack and fenders- Stiff and light Breezer-style dropouts- Peg on headtube for frame pumps- 1-1/8" headtube (fits EC34/28.6|EC34/30 headsets)- 27.2mm post size- Max. tire clearance: 700 x 42mm (optimized for 35mm tires)- 6 sizes: 48, 51, 54, 56, 58, 61, cm- 4.25 lbs. Double Cross 2021 Changes
Head angle is half a degree to one degree slacker, which puts the trail number at about the same as mid-90's XC bike. Chainstay length remains the same to keep things agile.
Bottom bracket drop is 4mm lower on most sizes. ( The largest sizes keep the 66mm drop in case long-legged cyclists want to run 180-185mm crank arms.)
New color matched fork: We wanted to add 3-pack mounts and a simple unicrown fork design clashed less those mounts than the previous lugged crown, curved blade design. We specced a smaller diameter Infinity tube than our aftermarket straight blade CX fork. It is stiffer and lighter than the lugged crown fork. It will fit a pannier rack too, just not with cargo cages mounted.
Added a third water bottle boss to the downtube. This used to be as unfashionable as having a kickstand, but thankfully no longer.
Slightly more stack on some sizes.
We debated whether to jump to thru-axles, 44mm headtube and flat mount brakes. We even asked for your opinions on social media. We decided to run with the tried and true standards (QR hubs, IS disc) for at least one more generation. This allows for customers to use parts in their garage and just allows for a lighter, more nimble bike.
We ovalized the top tube so it is wider than tall. It is better for shouldering the bike in cyclo-cross, but we mainly did it to eek out some torsion stiffness in the front triangle.
It has more peripheral clearance for 650b x 47mm tires. Will fit up to 700c x 45mm tires with 1x drivetrain.
The Fog Cutter is an endurance road/road sport design. Soma designed it to fit fatter tires, but the frame angles are more road bike than CX or gravel bike. It can float you over chewed up asphalt better than most bikes in this category. This is the frame you want for long days in the saddle and the most demanding commutes.• Tange Prestige double butted CrMo steel tubing; heat treated throughout• Road sport geometry• Rear rack & fender mounts• Tange Modular dropouts. A true mixte frame with the double top tube/stays. Obviously offers lots of standover height and style as well. You’ll find the geometry is more sporty, than upright-comfy. Though it can be built up to suit either demeanor. Drop bars? Sure. Moustache bars? Of course.
The upgrade to fitting disc brakes opens this mixte to fitting many different widths of tires, so instead of being limited to 700c x 32mmSpecs:
Tange Prestige heat-treated CrMo steel main tubes

The 42cm size on the Rim Brake model uses 26″ wheels, but all sizes of the Disc model will fit 700c wheels and fit tires as wide as 42mm. Though for smaller frames using 650b wheels will decrease toe overlap with the front wheel.
Weight: Frame: 2.6kg (50cm) Fork: 1.1 kg (350mm uncut steerer)

The Grand Randonneur is a road frame optimized to carry a front load. We have equipped it with rear rack mounts, but it feels best with a front load only. The version 3 of the "Grando" makes quite a few updates.
The geometry is still low trail in the front, but we have tried to make the low trail aspects less pronounced than in version 1 and 2.
We have tweaked the tubing mix to add stiffness at the bottom bracket, while keeping this frame our lightest model. Most sizes have a standard 25.4mm OD top tube, but sizes 58cm and up have more oversized tubes to better match up with larger riders.
We have modernized parts of it: Adding IS disc mounts and thru-axle hub compatibility. And of course everyone wants slightly more tire clearance.
With its skinny steel tubes and 1" threaded lugged crown fork it still has the look of a vintage road bike.

The original inspiration for the Wolverine was “monster cross”, but it is seriously so much more. Its geometry is stable enough for off road touring, but sporty enough for all-around adventure and gravel riding. With its sliding dropouts, you can run single-speed, derailleur gearing or hub gearing.
The primary differences between the 3.0 and v. 4 Type-A and B is a new 46cm size, an extra set of water bottle bosses, and additional stack height on most sizes. The Type-A ALSO adopts more modern standards such as 142mm rear thru-axle and a 44mm headtube that will fit 1-1/8 straight steerer or tapered steerer with the proper headset type. There is NO frame break for Belt-Drive like the B-Type has. (See chart for other differences between A and B)Specs A-Type:
