Why Just Pedal?

For every frame we ship out here at Just Pedal we can, when requested :

  • ream and face head tube and bottom bracket tube
  • face the crown race of the fork
  • Install headset and/or bottom bracket
Select Frame Preparation as additional option with the purchase of your frame.

Why prep your frame?

When using 2 seperate cups for headset (always) or bottom bracket (for all non-square taper bottom brackets) it is important these 2 cups are as parallel and in line as possible. Most tubes are straight (and if not, there is nothing a normal mechanic can do about it), so the cups will be in line, but not all tubes are cut straight, and also paint may cause this non-parallelism. By facing both ends of the tube you can ensure the cups are seated in the frame as parallel as possible. This will cause less wear of and play in the bearings.

Product information "Soma Wolverine Frame V4.1 - Type A - Orange"

The original inspiration for the Wolverine was “monster cross”, but it is seriously so much more. Its geometry is stable enough for off road touring, but sporty enough for all-around adventure.

2023 brings us the 4.1 A-Type update which adopts the flat mount disc standard on the frame and optional CrMo fork.

The A-Type has more modern standards than the B-Type, such as 142mm rear thru-axle and a 44mm headtube that will fit 1-1/8 straight steerer or tapered steerer forks with the proper headset type.  There is NO frame break for Belt-Drive on the A-Type Wolverine. (See chart in photo gallery for other differences between A and B)

Specs A-Type:

  • Tange Prestige heat-treated CrMo tube set
  • Clearance for 700x45c tires w/ fenders
  • Rear hub spacing/type: 142 x12mm Thru-Axle
  • IRD Broski sliding dropouts allow for geared or single-speed builds
  • Optional Matching Fork: Unicrown straight blade 15mm thru-axle fork with cage bosses (1-1/8”)
  • (No lugged crown fork offered for the Type-A)
  • Braze-ons for rear rack and fenders (disc brake-compatible racks only)
  • Three sets of water bottle bosses
  • 44mm headtube (Use ZS44/28.6-ZS44/30 headset for 1-1/8” steerers) (Use ZS44/28.6 -EC44/40 headsets for 1-1/8”-1-1/2” steerers)
  • Sizes: 46, 50, 52, 54, 56, 58. 60, 62 and 66cm (We recommend 650b tires on the 46cm)
